What is Health At Every Size?

Health at Every Size (HAES) promotes compassionate, evidence-based health practices prioritizing well-being over weight. It emphasizes intuitive eating, joyful movement, and body acceptance. HAES rejects weight stigma and focuses on holistic health, advocating for personalized care that respects diverse bodies and promotes sustainable habits.

Health Education

Most of what keeps people healthy and prolongs their life does not come from a doctor – it comes from healthy eating, healthy relationships, exercise, stress management, etc. We see health education as a critical part of primary care and emphasize positive behavior with all patients.

Screening and Prevention

While lifestyle is crucial to a long, healthy life, screening for and preventing certain diseases such as diabetes and stroke is also extremely important. We help you monitor certain key health indicators such as cholesterol and blood pressure, counsel you on your individual risk for certain diseases, and order and interpret testing as needed.

Referrals to Specialists

We make great efforts to maintain strong relationships with other providers in the community so that our patients get the best care possible. Treating the Whole Person requires providers from different specialties to work together for the sake of our patients.
